Meet the Team

Betania Hardman, LMFT

My priority as a therapist is to create a safe and warm environment for my clients to work on their healing process so they can achieve their most authentic life.  I believe that each client is the best expert on themselves, so I approach therapy from a collaborative lens. My goal is to meet my clients where they are on their journey with empathy, compassion, and a genuine interest in their unique experiences.

My treatment passion includes helping clients to manage anxiety (generalized anxiety symptoms), process childhood trauma/attachment wounds, cope with stress/burnout and life transitions, improve self-esteem and confidence, improve relations and communication with family, partners, co-workers and friends. I also focus on women’s issues, adjustment issues, acculturation and providing mental health support to therapists and clinicians. I utilize different therapeutic modalities tailored to my clients’ specific needs. My approach is person-centered, and trauma informed. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, Internal Family Systems strategies, Solution Focused strategies, DBT strategies. I am always interested in learning and expanding my knowledge to other areas and modalities.

I currently provide individual sessions via Telehealth to clients ages 18+. If you think we would be a good fit, I would love to be a part of your healing journey. You can reach me via email or phone to schedule a session. If you have any questions or would like to have additional information, I would be happy to offer a 15-minute phone consultation to address your needs and questions.

Thanks for visiting my bio! I look forward to being a source of support on your journey. My name is Betania Hardman, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Wisconsin and California.  I started my path in the mental health field in 2010 by providing therapy to children and families at an outpatient clinic in San Diego, California. My work focused on helping children and families to manage the effects of trauma, coping with depression, anxiety and social/emotional challenges. Through this work, I was also able to have the opportunity to provide mental health support and guidance to my fellow Latin and Hispanic community.  I moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 2020. Since then, I have been providing virtual individual therapy sessions to adult clients. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and cultures. I am fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and offer therapy sessions in either language per clients’ preference.

A little about me: I was born in Brazil and immigrated to the U.S. (Los Angeles, California) along with my mother when I was a teenager.  I have always had a passion for listening and helping people.  Having experienced my own trauma, grief and life transitions, I have come to appreciate how important it is to have a compassionate space to be able to feel heard, acknowledged and accepted. I am a mother of two young children (a preschooler and a toddler) and a furry child (a 5-year-old Boxer). In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband, children, dog and family.
