Meet the Team
Liz Light, LMFT
Liz (she/her) believes that we are all inherently deserving of pleasure and fulfillment. She invites clients to come as their authentic selves, explore the nuance of “what is,” and challenge narratives they may be ready to
shed.
As a systemic therapist, Liz believes all systems we exist within impact us. Clients can expect to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as experiences informed by family, partnership, community, work, and broader social systems.
Liz integrates various modalities into her practice including mindfulness, experiential therapies, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, collaborative therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She works with clients with concerns related to perfectionism, anxiety, burnout, depression, relational dynamics, attachment, co-dependency, assertiveness, identity exploration, parenting, trauma, and life changes.
Beyond her experience practicing individual and couples therapy, Liz has facilitated therapy groups including adolescent day treatment, anti-violence, women’s, and expressive art groups. Prior to becoming a therapist, she worked as a teaching artist in schools and community programs and worked with artists with disabilities in a direct support role. Creativity, adaptability, and groundedness have always been essential to her work and this breadth of experience supports her current practice. Liz is a LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist and works with adolescent and adult clients of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities.
Liz enjoys practicing skills with clients in-session, especially those supporting assertiveness and mindfulness, so that clients can build confidence and meet challenges with fresh approaches outside of session. She is a visual person and enjoys co-creating tools, maps, and art with clients to support grounding, insight, processing, and healing.
