Meet the Team

Katherine Pfaff, LPC

Katherine (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has been practicing therapy since 2018 with experience working in inpatient and outpatient therapy settings. Katherine has previously worked in a gender-specific substance abuse treatment center in Minneapolis and has worked in outpatient therapy settings for the past five years in Madison. Katherine has enjoyed the long-term therapeutic relationships she has been able to develop and sustain with her clients while working in outpatient therapy settings.

Katherine’s approach to counseling is a collaborative process directed toward helping her clients develop curiosity, understanding, and compassion toward themselves that may empower them to make desired and meaningful changes in their lives. She approaches therapy through the lens of Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy. Katherine is also Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained.

She believes past experiences and the stories clients have told themselves shape their present way of thinking and behaving in the world. Katherine provides an environment of safety and unconditionality by meeting her clients where they are in the change process while acknowledging their strengths which they already bring to the therapeutic process. Katherine’s experience and passion lies in treating female and nonbinary identifying individuals 18+ who have experienced the effects of trauma, attachment wounds, depression, anxiety, and relational concerns. Katherine welcomes clients of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities.
